I am ABD in literature, taught writing and literature in Colorado, Pennsylvania, and Idaho for almost twenty years. I quit teaching to write novels and poetry.
I am a Vietnam era vet, a recovering alcoholic/drug addict with twenty-two years of sobriety. I am entirely out of patience with this ridiculous culture we live in. I live alone, talk to my personal assistant, a few other vets, and precious few friends. Otherwise, I am good-natured, outgoing, and pleasant to be around.
I have a daughter who is thirty, she is a perfumer, and very much her own woman. I love her more than life. Oh, I also have an attack fish who lives in the pond outside my door.
I smoke, without apology, two packs of cigarettes a day, more if I have time. I pass them out to little kids whenever I get the chance.
